Calabar Monorail all set for commissioning by President Buhari

Cross River State is set to commission the first functioning monorail in Nigeria. The governor, Professor Ben Ayade says the state is ready for the commissioning of the Calabar monorail by President Muhammadu Buhari. The President is expected to commission the first monorail in sub-Sahara Africa while his wife, Hajia Aisha Buhari will commission the Cross River Garment Factory to mark Ayade’s first year in office.

The Governor disclosed he has taken an experimental ride on the monorail to ensure its fully ready to accommodate the crowd that will be flooding the state soon, the governor said he "I can proudly say that I find it interestingly rewarding and exciting riding in the monorail, he continued by stating “We are fully set, and from what I can see, the operation is fine and very smooth but it will be more breathtaking when the President and his wife will official take a ride on this monorail after the commissioning. “But truly, let me confess that Africa has come of age and I am glad that it is starting here in Cross River State, the Nation’s Paradise and most preferred destination in Nigeria.”

The Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. John Gaul Lebo also described his monorail ride experience as awesome and breathtaking.
